When I found out I was pregnant with Ava Grace, I was determined to stay as active as possible, since I had been told regular exercise would make labor easier—and help me shed the baby weight after delivery.
My pregnancy workout consisted of walking, hiking and Pilates three days per week. (Get my exercise moves here.) I walked every single day. Towards the end of your third trimester the side-to-side sway of your hips during walking may ease your baby’s head into your pelvis, giving you a leg up on labor ☺
As my body changed throughout my pregnancy, I discovered my workout gear also needed to accommodate my new shape. Here are my favorites:
Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit
Perfect for those last couple of months when not only is it hard to even see your feet, but tying your shoes can feel like an Olympic sport. Just slip these on and go!
Ingrid and Isabel Seamless Belly Leggings
I love their leggings because they fit over growing bellies and are very stretchy!
Water bottles are an essential to keep you hydrated during your walk or workout. I love this glass bottle because it is free from BPA plastic and comes in a bunch of pretty colors. A silicone wrap makes it easier to grip and less likely to break.
Under Armour tank tops
I bought their regular active wear lines in larger sizes so that tops could fit over my belly. The brand has really fun and bright pieces that look great with a simple pair of black leggings.
Wellicious Mummy Collection
This activewear line from Europe uses organic cotton in most of their clothing, which can be hard to find–especially when you don’t want to compromise on comfort and style. They also have loungewear for hanging out post-workout!
I always wear a hat while taking my walks to give myself a little extra protection from the sun! It’s also the best way to keep your hair out of your face.
